- THE CHURCH OF SAINT SAMSON, PARIS
-
- This old church was built in 1746 and demolished in 1882, after
- the local populace rose up and tore it physically down to it's
- foundations. Popular rumours had circulated linking the church to
- a series of mysterious murders that occured in the surrounding
- area. It was rumoured that a host of evil creatures from beyond
- the grave lived in the crypt underneath the church. After the
- church was pulled down the attacks stopped, but a final rumour
- siad that the creatures would return to continue their attacks
- after a hundred years or so.
- A mad old priest lived next to the church during it's last few
- days. He was a raver and said to be connected with the creatures.
- He had a mad passion for collecting silver.
- The entrance to the crypt was to be found under a fake tombstone
- dedicated to St. Samson. Rumours of the old priest's silver
- collection attracted treasure seekers to the crypt. Needless to
- say, none ever returned from the crypt.
- A shrine to the ancient malign god of Ctkuli was erected in the
- church ruins by some unknown cult. The uttering of his name was
- rumoured in popular superstition to instantly transport the
- foolhardy to his lair to vile death.
